Finally cleared off my 30"x 12' bench which was built for a Graham Lee Nieuport 11 project. The benchtop is a 1x4 ladder frame, 24" centers, with 5/8" particle board on top and 1/4 plywood on the bottom. Makes a fairly sturdy surface. The top is leveled with shims sitting on top of several shop cabinets.
I clamped the plans on the end of the bench with a wood strip over the stapled end and secured to the bench with c-clamps. Allows easy flipping through pages with the top sheets layed over the end of the bench.
